K9LogoBlue Coat’s K9 Web Protection is a free Internet and parental controls filter that gives parents control over their family’s use of the Internet. It enables parents to monitor and control what sites their children access and enables them to block offensive or potentially dangerous sites. K9 Web Protection relies on the same enterprise-class Web filtering technology used by Blue Coat enterprise customers around the world, and is wrapped in a simple, easy-to-manage software application that is compatible with both Mac and PC computers. To protect against newly discovered threats, K9 Web Protection is continuously updated by the WebPulse™ service, the Blue Coat cloud-based community watch environment that also updates Blue Coat WebFilter™ and ProxyClient® enterprise products. In this community watch environment, the identification of malware by one member is shared with all to prevent infections or other harm.

SpyBye

SpybyeSpyBye is a tool to help web masters determine if their web pages are hosting browser exploits that can infect visiting users with malware. It functions as an HTTP proxy server and intercepts all browser requests. SpyBye uses a few simple rules to determine if embedded links on your web page are harmlesss, unknown or maybe even dangerous. SpyBye operates as a proxy server and gets to see all the web fetches that your browser makes. It applies very simple rules to each URL that is fetched as a result of loading a web page. These rules allows us to classify a URL into three categories: harmless, unknown or dangerous. Although, there is great margin of error, the categories allow a web master to look at the URLs and determine if they should be there or not. If you see that a URL is being fetched that you would not expect, it’s a good indication you have been copromised.

Burp Suite

Burpsuite-1Burp suite is an integrated platform for attacking web applications. It contains all of the burp tools (proxy, spider, intruder and repeater) with numerous interfaces between them designed to facilitate and speed up the process of attacking a web application. All plugins share the same robust framework for handling HTTP requests, authentication, downstream proxies, logging, alerting and extensibility. Burp suite allows an attacker to combine manual and automated techniques to enumerate, analyse, attack and exploit web applications. The various burp tools work together effectively to share information and allow findings identified within one tool to form the basis of an attack using another.
